Cafe Nurcha – Buderim – UBEREATS

Shot this for Ubereats a while ago. It seems to be the future of this industry in terms of contracts to go through a third party agency for jobs nowadays. Im quite happy with that as it allows me to concentrate on the photography and not get to caught up in constantly chasing clients and trying to book shots in. Ubereats have been great to work with and really like the simplicity of the process to complete the job.

Thought I’d share these from a few weeks ago. Its for a range of restaurants and food outlets located in the strand shopping center in coolangatta. I had the amazing experience of working with two incredible food stylists, Lyndel Miller and Bernadette Khater, both hugely experienced and capable people who I’ve learned a lot from. I feel myself being more drawn to shooting food and still life in general as I’m fascinated by the process of placing objects within their own space and making the whole composition work. I cant wait to do more projects like this…

Lirah – Food + product photography

Taken from a recent shoot for a great long time client of mine – Ian Henderson of Lirah balsamic vinegar. This was also my first time working with food stylist Annabelle, which was certainly memorable as there was a huge storm that came in at the end of the shoot which made for some tricky natural lighting solutions. Hopefully we’ll work together again in the future.

This is the second time I’ve collaborated with Krista. The first was for the American mag – Cake & Whiskey. This was for Highlife magazine out of Toowoomba so was quite local. Krista has an amazing food & travel blog and I hope to work with her again in the future.
This was lots of fun to shoot, very relaxed and down to earth – bit like me really. Again a special thanks to Jackie & Julia for a great morning.

A few examples of where my pictures eventually end up. Its actually rare to see the final finished ads sometimes as many are produced interstate and I don’t usually get a copy of whatever they end up in. Really happy with these and how they turned out. I love shooting food and lifestyle pieces so I’m thinking of starting a food and wine blog just so as I can shoot food every week (and eat it also) watch this space?…

I’ve been involved in projects for Ian for some time now and value him as one of my favourite clients to work with. He always allows me absolute freedom of expression when I’m shooting and really encourages the best out of people, just about the perfect client really. Ian makes some of the best Balsamic and flavoured vinegars on the planet! and is currently diversifying his business and needed some new photography with a different approach to what we had done before. Very industrial, clean lines and super sharp were the words being used to describe to new look website currently being developed and I think we managed to capture the essence of that brief. This is the first part of this project, with more shoots in the pipeline – can’t wait!….
